My Trip to Singapore - Anushka

About 3 years ago was my first time coming to Australia. I was coming here to live as a permanent resident. It took about 13 hours by airplane and almost a day to arrive. The day of the departure was sad that I'll leave but excitement filled the sadness. I was with my brother and my grandmother. My grandma couldn't speak English. It was easy to get on the plane from Nepal since we can speak Nepali. First hour on the plane was normal and exciting. We got ourselves a drink and I helped my grandma with hers. We had entertainment provided so it wasn't boring either.

Few hours later, we got bored. I was really tired so I slept and my brother and grandma stayed awake.  It was also my first overseas trip. 4 hours passed by soon and we landed in Singapore. We had our flight to Australia after a 5 hours rest there. It was Christmas day so it was very amusing. I slept there too. It wasn't a great trip for me because I slept most of the time but it was my first time being so long on an airplane.

We departed from Singapore soon and we were accompanied by some people helping my grandma as she was older. It was new for me and my brother. But, both of us were very excited. Nine hours long journey was waiting. I was no more sleepy and enjoyed the outside view instead. I was over the ocean. We weren't next to each other this time. So I had a different seat partner. She was nice but looked annoyed because of us. I thought I wasn't sleepy but I slept in no time. Before I knew it, we arrived at the Sydney Airport. We were waiting for my mum to pick us up. We got our bags off and my mum picked us after an hour.

None of us had Australian sim cards so it was hard to contact my mum. However, we were provided with that at Airport so it was not a bad experience. I stayed all night looking around my house and since I slept through the trip, I wasn't tired.
